报告摘要:

AI has been increasingly applied across many domains of sustainability, from environmental monitoring and resource management to biodiversity protection and climate resilience. In this talk, I will introduce several ongoing projects that demonstrate how advanced AI methods, such as computer vision, edge AI, and robotics, are being used to support sustainable practices and decision-making. I will also discuss how the emergence of large AI models presents new opportunities to engage a broader range of stakeholders, including communities, policymakers, and industry partners, in co-creating sustainable futures. By enabling more accessible knowledge translation, richer human–AI interaction, and scalable problem-solving, large AI models can broaden participation and accelerate impact in sustainability initiatives. Through these examples, the talk highlights both the current contributions of AI to sustainability and the expanding possibilities unlocked by large AI technologies.
